This is your opportunity to become a specialist in user-centered design within product development. Make life sound better for people Wold-Wide, as they enjoy the experience and feel of our products.

Through its Jabra brand, GN Audio is a world leader in innovative hands-free audio solutions, and as a User Experience designer, you will get the unique chance to specialize in the experience of our physical products and work on the user interface design. This is an area of great significance to the GN organization, and you will get to be part of developing it.

Join the professional User Experience team
We are looking for two new colleagues to become part of our User Experience team in R&D, consisting of 14 UX designers with differing backgrounds and focus areas. We deliver design recommendations throughout the entire product development process. We use our skills on product requirements, design and validation from a user point-of-view based on added value, perception, usability, comfort and fit. You will be welcomed into a laid-back, yet professional, atmosphere, and we look forward to meeting you.

Specialize in wearing comfort and fit
As a UX designer within our ‘comfort’ domain, you will get to play an important role in developing our methodologies and processes to influence how we use data in our future designs. Through project assignments, you will be responsible for evaluating and giving design input on user-related aspects in our physical products – with your main focus on wearing comfort and fit.

Part of your job will be to perform user test activities, by testing product designs on users to assess comfort. Collaborating with the different product development teams and mechanical design engineers, you will make sure designs are adjusted based on user tests results.

Specialize in user interaction
As a UX designer within our ‘device design’ domain, you will primarily focus on the user value and perception of our physical products. You will participate in product development – from early user research and concept development, through to design requirements and validation through user tests. Through project assignments, you are responsible for defining and will follow-through all aspects of user experience and product usability.

To support other development disciplines in providing great user experience within each of their areas, your main task is to translate user needs into clear design requirements and specifications. Part of your job will be to perform user test activities with focus on product usability and user perception.

Outgoing, user-centered designer
• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree within e.g. industrial design, interaction design, mechanical engineering or similar.
• We prefer that you have experience from a similar job. However, recently graduated will also be considered.
• Your methodological tool box is well-stocked, and you can work with design thinking, taking a holistic overview which combines user focus, technology focus and business focus.
• You are experienced in qualitative and quantitative test methods and have worked with user involvement and user-centered processes.
• You have solid Excel skills and basic knowledge of statistics and web surveys. It is an advantage, if you know the Adobe suite - primarily Illustrator and Photoshop.
• You speak and write English fluently.

As a person, you are outgoing and enjoy the close interaction with people while testing your designs. Working in a matrix organization, it is important that you are co-creative, enabling you to work across functions on different projects. Moreover, you have strong communication skills both visually and verbally – and are able to present design information and test findings in a clear and convincing manner. And finally, you take initiative to seek knowledge and initiate activities in your projects.
